There were 30,000 visitors to the nation's focal gathering in Chatham for Armed Forces Day.
Arriva arranged the buses for two Park and Ride services,drawing on its own DAF/Northern Counties vehicles, as well as hiring in a mixed bag, predominantly of Leyland Olympians. However the Arriva London subsidiaries provided eight Mercedes Benz O530G articulated buses, a useful way of finding out if the buses might be suitable for use in the medway Towns when they are finally withdrawn under the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, proscription.
Roll on the new Routemaster! Viva the cost of designing a bus just for London!! What a waste of money.
